Mornar

Generosity, abundance and lavishness; the Croatian-born sculptor Mateo Mornar radiates these qualities! He never skimps on anything.

This is also true of his talent which has been recognized by collectors the world over, starting with the royal family of Monaco, and crossing International borders, from Tokyo to New York, via Switzerland!. Mateo spends his energy as he does his money. He is now investing not only in bronze , but in more precious and prestigious materials.

After having created "his" women, a harem of soft, round, shapely creatures, he has now turned his attention to fashioning a truly unique bestiary.
Formidable big cats, a few charming felines, even a four-metre-long hippopotamus weighing a metric ton, the world's largest in bronze.

Matéo Monar is showing his artist's claws: momentarily setting aside "his women's" smooth voluptuous curves for an angular, modern , almost aggressive art.The tiger, which is naturally the first figure, met with enormous success at the Monaco Antique and Contemporary Art Show.

The artist, who works in Nice, delighted collectors from all over the world, with this new series of majestic works.

But Matéo does not intend to stop there. He is about to become the world's most expensive sculptor, choosing increasingly prestigious materials to create exceptional luxury art.

Solid gold animals encrusted with precious stones, emeralds and diamonds! - Art for Princes.
Light years away from frugality and reason. An art for the 21st century, a century without boundaries, where folly and utopia intermingle!

On a more idealistic level, there is also the artist's will to work with young people, transmit his know-how, educate the eye and sensitivity of the young, so they can open up to an unspoiled world of beauty.

It is natural and reassuring for an artist to explore new directions, but it is equally important that he remain loyal to his essence, the first source of his inspiration.

For Mornar, this means women: fleshy, full, fulfilled women! Sometimes cocky, occasionally sad, but always seductive.

Despite a significant shift towards more cubic shapes, and sharper lines, the sculptor cannot escape the round seductive women who fill his artistic world.

So, a natural evolution would be a solid-gold woman? Why not?
Adorned, as she would so dearly love, in emaralds rubies and diamonds!!!

In short, a woman straight out of the Arabian Nights.
